I have been in the mental health field since graduating from Georgia State University in 1993. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I have been fortunate to work with a variety of people in a diverse range of settings, from non-profit organizations to community mental health agencies. In my practice I work with older adolescents (age 17-19) and adults, addressing concerns that include anxiety and stress, self-defeating behaviors (including issues with overuse of alcohol and other substances), difficult relationships, grief, and trauma.
Using skills that are well-researched and time-tested, I work with clients to discover the thoughts that sabotage their mood, health and relationships. Together we revise those ideas with beliefs that help them improve how they feel, both emotionally and physically, and change how they relate to themselves and others.
